ScreenStyle WA believes our products, coated by us will last longer than any other on the market using the same medium to manufacture, whether its steel, timber, composite or aluminum they all need maintenance of some kind. There is no such thing as maintenance free, it’s a myth. It may be as simple as giving your gate a gentle wash down with warm soapy water, wipe down with a damp cloth or giving it a coat of Timber Glow to bring it back to new.
Timber is a natural product, this is what gives it its beauty and well sealed timber will last many years, but because it does move with the seasons it needs to be looked at every now and then to check for dirt build-up or for any areas fading more rapidly than others like the horizontal surfaces i.e. deck seating or the very top boards on a screen or gate.
Special attention may have to be paid to different areas in your yard, especially where gates are in heavy traffic areas and are at risk of something scratching the surface and removing the coating allowing water to penetrate the timber or the powder coat. Another area could be the garden where sprinklers directly hitting your screen or gate could cause a problem or an area that is facing full exposure from the sun.
