Coatings
ScreenStyle WA believes in providing the best products available and timber coating is one of them. With any product exposed to the elements it will only last as long as it is protected properly and if the protection is applied properly. For this reason all our timber slatted gates, fence infill’s and screens are spray coated with no less than three coats before they are assembled allowing us to guarantee all the coatings on our timber products for a minimum of two years against water penetration or graying.
We have extensive experience with timber deck construction, different timbers, and many different coatings on those decks which has led us to our current process with our screen and gate coatings. Put simply if you don’t seal your timber on all sides including the ends then it won’t last very long. Although it is not always possible with decks it certainly is with timber screens and gates so ask us if you can see our screens after they have been in place for a while and you will see the difference between timber professionally coated and timber that has a couple of coats of ‘who knows what’ brushed on top.
Coating our timber is something we know how to do to make our product look as good as possible for as long as possible. We have worked closely with Hulletts paints to get a locally made product that will outlast any of the imported products that have been made for European or other environments. We have developed a color range to complement our most popular timbers and to match as closely as possible any other products on your property i.e. garage door, front door or any other timber product you may have.
Hardwood timbers have varying degrees of tannin and some coatings do not cater for this especially if the timber is not sealed on all sides, our coatings are made to suit all timbers hardwood or soft. Unlike many others our coatings are all water based which are much safer for the environment, are safe to use for us in our spraying process and are easily applied and washed up when used for recoats at home, no messy solvents to get rid of or brushes to throw in the bin because they are too hard to clean.
ScreenStyle WA manufacture all of our gates and many of our screens and fence infill’s with welded steel frames which can be hot dipped galvanized and or powder coated, most of our frames are made from Duragal pre galvanized steel and then pre treated with a zinc rich undercoat before being powder coated. Our aluminum frames are also pre treated before being powder coated. This process is done regardless of whether you live one street away from the beach or in the hills, corrosion is something that happens to both steel and aluminum and we do as much as possible to limit its effects on your product.
